Wanted: Veterans to go fishing for free on Lake Vermilion

TOWER — Veterans from across the Northland are invited to sign up now for the ninth annual Take A Vet Fishing event on Lake Vermilion.

The day of free food, fun and fishing Aug. 25 is sponsored by and headquartered at Fortune Bay Resort Casino near Tower. The Lake Vermilion Fishing Guides League provides the boats, gear and guides.

Veterans from all branches of service and all eras are welcome to join, and in past years there have been veterans from World War II through Desert Storm and more.
