The Northwestern Clay Target team placed 56th in the state tournament recently in Nekoosa, Wis. Members of the team are, front row, Shelby Tenney and Maria Tenney. The Northwestern High School clay target team competed in the June 9 state tournament in Nekoosa, Wis.

The team placed 56th of 78 teams in the tournament. The top male varsity shooter for Northwestern was Jacob Amacher, breaking 97 out of 100 targets. Amacher finished in a tie for seventh place.The top female novice class shooter was Marie Tenney, hitting 58 out of 100. Tenney finished in 35th place.

Joining Amacher and Tenney at state were Jessica Shaver, Andrew Nelson, Cloey Callaway, Josh Walsh, Joel Walsh, Jordan Herrman and Shelby Tenney.

The team coaches and assistants were Randy Wick, Cindy Wick, Mark Bergren, J.J. Gregerson, Bob Ronchi, Randy Goss, LeRoy Burger, Kay Chapman, Tony Ronchi and Buzz Ronchi.
