The University of Minnesota Duluth was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) with junior forward Brandon Myer named to the Division II All-Central District Second Team on Monday.
Myer, a Superior native, was selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division II, joining 87 other student-athletes to represent the finest Division II basketball players across America.
Myer joins Pierre Newton and Brett Ervin as the Bulldogs last three recipients of all-district honors in the past five seasons.
He earned his first All-NSIC First Team selection after finishing his junior campaign averaging 21.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists - all career marks. Myer budded into one of the high-caliber players in the region as led UMD in all five major statistical categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals).
He led the NSIC in rebounding and posted the fifth-most points per game in the league as well. He shot 49.9 percent on the season including 39.8 percent from three-point range.

He also scored a career-high 34 points on Feb. 15 against Northern State University and grabbed a collegiate-high 17 rebounds on Dec. 8 against the University of Mary.
First Team selections move on to the All-America ballot. Top-ranked and undefeated Northwest Missouri State University head coach Ben McCollum was named the region's coach of the year.
