For the second straight year the Bill Law Nemadji Invitational was shortened because of rain. And for the second straight year, Don McKay was the winner.
The Cloquet Country Club member won the 85th annual Bill Law Invitational thanks to his round of 70 on Saturday, June 29.
With 2.5 inches of rain falling on the course early Sunday morning, the second round of action was canceled and McKay picked up his third Nemadji title. He also finished first in 2007.
Finishing one stroke behind McKay with 71s were Sam Baker, Troy McNulty and Dave Isackson.
Pete Lilliberg shot 76 to win the Senior Division championship with Dick Frank finishing second at 78. Both Lilliberg and Frank golf out of Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth.
