The Superior Mariners of Superior Amateur Hockey Association finished in third place in the WAHA High School D1 State Tournament last weekend in Monroe.
The Mariners defeated Hudson Navy 3-2 on Friday night, lost to Kenosha 4-3 on Saturday then defeated SHAW 9-7 in the third-place game on Sunday.
The Mariners trailed SHAW 4-2 going into the third period and were down 7-2 with six minutes remaining.
Superior eventually tied the game at 7-7 with 1:35 remaining then scored two more times before the clock ran out for the two-goal victory.
The Mariners placed first in three tournaments this season, third in two others and fourth in one to complete their season with a record of 18-4-2.

Matt Shold, Kyler Moss and Brad Glonek are credited with hat tricks this season and playmaker award goes to Matt and Mark Shold and Brad Glonek. Goalie Dusty Abreu was credited with a shutout.
The Mariners will celebrate their season with an end of year "fun" game vs. soldiers of Superior's 950th National Guard at noon on Saturday, March 24 at SAHA. The event is free and open to the public.
