Superior TelegramThe University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s basketball team wrapped up the nonconference portion of its schedule with a 75-64 win over UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium.
The Yellowjackets, who improved to 5-1 with their third straight win, got a game-high 22 points from Hannah Norlin and career-high 21 points from Emily Carpenter.
Norlin, who scored her 1,000th career point earlier last week, also finished with six rebounds, four blocks, three assists and two steals, while the 5-foot-2 Carpenter added five rebounds and five assists along with five 3-pointers. Eva Reinertsen was also in double figures for the Yellowjackets with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Hallee Hoeppner had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Blugolds (4-2). Kelsey Bakken and Katie Essen added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Nate Dodge had 23 points to lead fourth-ranked UW-Stevens Point to a 79-36 nonconference win over UWS on Saturday, Dec. 1, before 1,012 at Quandt Fieldhouse in Stevens Point.
Garrett Nelson added 13 points as 12 players scored for the Pointers (4-1).
Freshman Lucas LaMue led UWS with 12 points in his first collegiate start. The freshman from De Pere, was 4-for-4 from 3-point range, while senior Montroy Scott added 10 points and six rebounds for the YellowJackets, who fell to 1-6.
UWS opens UMAC play at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at St. Scholastica.
 The Yellowjackets skated to a 1-1 overtime tie with UW-Stout and lost 4-0 to UW-Stevens Point over the weekend at Wessman Arena.
On Friday, Nov. 30, Lucas Carroll scored for the Blue Devils with 2:01 remaining in the first period and the Yellowjackets tied it up when Pavel Mikhasenok scored with help from David Kaplan 9:18 into the third period.
Superior got 25 saves from A.J. Smith, while Tommy Ahlgren stopped 41 shots for Stout (6-3-1, 0-1-1).
On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Pointers scored two power-play goals and Connor Ryckman posted 24 saves in their win.
UWS went 0-for-5 with an extra skater to fall to 3-7-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the WIAC.

UW-River Falls defeated the Yellowjackets 2-0 Saturday, Dec. 1, at Hunt Arena in River Falls.
The Falcons scored goals in the first and third periods and goalie Tatyana Delaittre made them stand with a 25-save shutout.
Madi Nolan opened the scoring 5:44 into the game, while Ashley Effertz closed the scoring 5:48 into the third for sixth-ranked River Falls (8-1, 3-0 WIAC).
Catherine Johnson had 25 saves for UWS (2-7-1, 0-3-1).
