Christian Jones and General McArthur hit home runs, and the Duluth Huskies held on to win their fourth straight, 8-7 over the Thunder Bay Border Cats in Northwoods League baseball on Tuesday night before 734 at Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay.
Jones finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and McArthur was 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs. Jones' two-run homer keyed the Huskies' three-run seventh inning. They followed with runs in the eighth and ninth innings and needed all of them as the Border Cats matched them in scoring in each of the final three innings.
Chris Gilbody and John Lagattuta added two hits apiece for Duluth (9-4), while Brady Gulakowski had two hits and three RBIs to lead Thunder Bay (5-8), which dropped its fourth straight.
While the Huskies' pitching wasn't always pretty, Tim Holdgrafer was able to close it out to get the save.
