Cedar and Coulton Holden, of South Range, competed at the national competition for indoor climbing in Kennesaw, Ga., in July.
Cedar, 11, finished third in speed climbing, earning him a spot on the USA Climbing National Team. He also finished 24th in sport/difficulty climbing in the 11-and under age category.
Cedar Holden was competing in his third youth climbing nationals.

Coulter finished 19th in sport/difficulty climbing among 14-and-15 year olds.
The brothers earned spots at nationals after placing well enough at the 18-state Divisional competition in Chicago in June.
There, Cedar finished second in speed climbing and second in sport climbing. Coulter placed second in sport climbing.
They also placed well at the five-state Midwest Regional competition in May in Grimes, Iowa. Cedar placed second in speed climbing and first in sport climbing and
Coulter placed first in sport climbing.
Coulter and Cedar, along with their younger sister, Savanna, will be competing in the upcoming indoor bouldering season starting in October, hoping to earn
a spot at the Bouldering Nationals in Madison in February.
