Wisconsin-Superior’s Artur Terchiyev, Pavel Mikhasenok and Chad Lopez were named to the All-WIAC Men’s Ice Hockey Team, announced Wednesday.

Terchiyev, a junior defenseman from Kiev, Ukraine, and Mikhasenok, a senior defenseman from Yekaterinburg, Russia, led the Yellowjackets with 10 points apiece.

Lopez, a junior forward from Arlington, Texas, added nine points while scoring a team-high seven goals in a shortened 10-game season for UWS (7-3).

In addition, Dylan Johnson, a sophomore forward from Cloquet, earned honorable-mention honors after notching five goals and four assists for nine points, and Lawson McDonald, a senior defenseman from Winkler, Manitoba, made the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Levi Cudmore scored the game-winning goal on the power play at 13:24 in the third period on assists from Lopez and Terchiyev as UWS rallied from two goals down to defeat Wisconsin-Stevens Point 3-2 March 12 for the WIAC tournament championship.

Stevens Point’s Zach Zech was chosen Player of the Year by league coaches, Wisconsin-River Falls’ Vilho Saariluoma was tabbed Newcomer of the Year and River Falls’ Steve Freeman took Coach of the Year honors.
