Superior High School graduate Addie Young and Morgan Zirbel scored goals to lead Wisconsin-Eau Claire to a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin-Superior Wednesday night in a WIAC women’s hockey game at Wessman Arena.

Tessa Jorde scored on an assist from Amber Heidenreich at 15:30 in the second period to pull UWS to within a goal at 2-1 but that’s as close as the Yellowjackets would get as Kylah Krause only needed nine saves to get the win for the Blugolds (4-0-1).

McKenzie Whalen stopped 39 shots to lead UWS (2-2).

Dylan Johnson of Cloquet and Will Blake scored goals and then Wisconsin-Superior hung on for a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin-River Falls in a WIAC men’s hockey game at W.H. Hunt Arena in River Falls, Wisconsin.

Josh Arnold scored at 1:16 in the third period as River Falls (4-3) pulled to within a goal but would get no closer as Oscar Svensson had 26 saves for the Yellowjackets (3-2).
