Five players scored as host Wisconsin-Stevens Point skated to a 5-3 victory over Wisconsin-Superior Wednesday night in WIAC men’s hockey.
Cody Moline scored just 21 seconds into the game and Jordan Roo scored at 4:59 in the first as the Pointers (3-2) got off to a great start.
UWS (2-2) came back with goals by Levi Cudmore and Lawson McDonald to knot it 2-2 in the second period before Stevens Point scored just before the intermission and 8:19 into the third to regain a two-goal cushion.
Oscar Svensson had 25 saves for UWS while Ryan Wagner had 23 saves for Stevens Point.
Wisconsin-Superior struck first on Tessa Jorde’s goal at 11:24 in the first period but it was all Wisconsin-River Falls after that as the Falcons soared to a 4-1 victory in WIAC women’s hockey Wednesday at Wessman Arena.
Reilly Springman had a goal and an assist and Jordan O’Connor had 10 saves to lead River Falls (5-0).
McKenzie Whalen had 29 saves to lead UWS (2-1).
