Spartan girls win finale at Silver Bay

The Superior High School girls hockey team wrapped its regular season with a 3-2 win over the North Shore Storm Monday night in Silver Bay.

Senior Addie Young scored all three goals for the Spartans who improved to 6-17.

Alee Mlinkovich-Gray assisted on two of Young’s goals and Lucy Drougas and Rose Ion had an assist apiece.

Cora Carter and Jessie Ketola scored for the Storm and Maureen Dyer and Lilka Mojkowski combined to make 15 saves.

Katrina Casper had 21 saves for Superior.

The Spartans are the No. 6 seed for the WIAA playoffs and will play at No. 3 River Falls Co-op at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15.
