Senior defenseman Chris Berenguer scored two first-period goals as Hamline went on to beat the University of Wisconsin-Superior men's hockey team 4-1 Friday in a non-conference game at the DECC.
Hamline (8-3-1) of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was up 2-1 after two periods, following a boal by Justin Faryna of UWS (8-5-1).
The Pipers added two scores in the third period, both on power plays.
Hamline's Beau Christian and Superior's Drew Strandberg each finished with 24 saves.
UWS hosts Bethel University at 6 p.m. Saturday at the DECC.
