Football: Local players to compete in Wisconsin All-Star games

Northwood/Solon Springs’ Collin Krmpotich and Northwestern’s Adam Thompson to represent Northwestern Wisconsin this weekend in Oshkosh.

Northwood/Solon Springs’ Collin Krmpotich and Northwestern’s Adam Thompson will represent Northwestern Wisconsin at this weekend’s Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star football games at Titan Stadium on the Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus.

Krmpotich is a 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back who will compete for the North in the Eight-Player All-Star Game at 6 p.m. Friday, July 16. He was a multipurpose threat for Northwood/Solon Springs (3-4) last fall, leading the team in rushing (76 carries, 618 yards, 7 touchdowns), receiving (26 receptions, 355 yards, 5 TDs), tackles (59), quarterback sacks (2.5) and interceptions (two). The North squad is head coached by Mercer-Butternut-Chequamegon’s Matt Schoeneman.

Thompson is a 6-2, 230-pound defensive lineman who will compete in the Small School All-Star Game at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17. Thompson led the Tigers (6-2) with 58 tackles, including an incredible 22 for loss. The North is coached by Altoona’s Chad Hanson.
