Flessert to swim in South Korea

Superior’s Amy Flessert will compete in next month’s FINA World Masters Swimming Championships Aug. 12-18 in Gwangju, South Korea.

Flessert qualified in six individual events, including three in freestyle as well as the 50- and 200-meter breaststroke. She will compete in the 35-39 age group.

The former Superior YMCA lifeguard previously competed at worlds in 2014 in Montreal and 2017 in Budapest, Hungary.

In between, she competed in the 2016 U.S. Masters Swimming Summer National Championships at the Mt. Hood Community College Aquatic Center in Gresham, Ore.

Flessert, a native of Phillips and a 2007 graduate of UW-Superior, is a member of the Nort’landers Swim Club.
