Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory welcomes the public to celebrate the fall bird migration daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Oct. 31.
Naturalists and volunteers are on-site at Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve doing live bird demonstrations, hawk-watching, kid's activity cart, Junior Birder Program, free binoculars rental, and merchandise sales.
There are only a few evening owl programs left Each fall Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory conducts banding research on the Northern Saw-whet Owl. Over 1,000 have already been banded this season.
Join one of the Saturday Evening Owl Programs at 8 p.m. through Oct. 27
We also have one Friday Family Owl Program at 8 p.m. today, which is geared towards kids under 10-years-old. Learn interesting facts and stories about owls of the region and there's a good chance you will get to see a live owl up close. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family and must be reserved in advance as space is limited. Tickets go on sale the Monday prior to the program date and can be purchased by calling 218-428-6209 or in person at Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Hawk Ridge has a limited number of free, private group education programs available about birds and the fall migration. These programs have been made possible through individual donors for groups of any age, including school groups, which have not been to Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve and/or cannot afford field trip program funding. The main overlook at Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve is located on East Skyline Parkway about 1 mile after you turn off Glenwood Street.
