The Solon Springs baseball team swept a doubleheader from the Hurley Midgets Monday evening in Solon Springs.
The Eagles scored seven runs on two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the opening game 13-9. They completed the sweep with a 10-9 win in game two by scoring four runs on two outs in the top of the seventh inning.
Tyler Long was the winning pitcher, allowing seven runs while striking out seven. On offense he singled, knocked in two runs and scored twice.
Other Eagle hitting stars were Philip Larson, 3-for-5; Kevin Zamzow, 2-for-4 with three runs scored; Brett Missinne, a double and two RBIs; Joe Androsky, 2-for-3 with two RBIs; and Logan Long, 2-for-3.
Nick Skaggs picked up the win in game two, striking out one in three scoreless innings.

Larson's two-run double came during the Eagles' rally in the top of the seventh inning. After Larson advanced to third on the throw to the plate, he scored on an overthrow to third base. Tyler Long tied the game with a bases-loaded walk, scoring Logan Long. Zamzow then scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
Tyler Long also doubled in a run; Caleb Utyro and Logan Long each singled and scored twice; Corey Utyro singled in run; and Zamzow singled, scored two runs and knocked in another.
Solon Springs plays at Mellen Thursday and hosts Mellen Friday. Both games begin at 4:30 p.m.
