Northwestern junior Emmett Johnson and Superior freshman Tayler McMeekin took individual titles and Northwestern swept the boys and girls team titles at Norwood Golf Course in Lake Nebagamon.

Johnson covered the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 14.5 seconds to edge Wrenshall sophomore Jack Riley (17:15.7) by a little more than a second. Solon Springs sophomore Dylan Taggart was third in 17:43.7.

Bennett Nelson of Northwestern was fifth and Shane Leask of Superior sixth to complete Douglas County runners in the top 10.

Superior was third of 10 teams in the boys team standings and Solon Springs was fifth.

McMeekin finished in 20:00.3, more than a minute ahead of runner-up Grace Hrabik of Esko (21:14.6) and third-place finisher Shayna Wick of Northwestern (21:45.0).

Wick was followed by teammates Jenna Hursh and Ashlyn Sutherland, who finished simultaneously in 21:54.

Superior was fifth of nine teams in the team standings; Solon Springs was eighth.
