Burchfield competes at state meet
Solon Springs/Northwood senior Noland Burchfield finished 45th of 113 runners at the Wisconsin Division 3 boys state cross country meet Saturday, Oct. 31, at Maple Grove Venues in West Salem.
Burchfield, who was timed in 17:59.98, moved to Solon Springs from Mississippi after his freshman year and just missed qualifying for the state meet last year.
The Division 3 field was divided in three waves for both boys and girls. Burchfield ran with individuals and a handful of teams in the middle heat.
Burchfield qualified with a sixth-place finish at sectionals Saturday, Oct. 24, in Cameron, covering five kilometers in 17:48.9.
This was the fourth straight year the Eagles have qualified a team or individual for the state meet.
