SUPERIOR — Wisconsin-Superior’s Payton Steiner hit a home run and collected four RBIs in a 17-10 win over UMAC opponent North Central Sunday.
The Yellowjackets scored seven fourth-inning runs and scored at least two runs in five of eight innings at the plate. What’s more, seven different UWS hitters recorded at least two RBIs in the win.
Sophomore Ben Rhodes, a Superior graduate, went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored and Duluth East alum Isaac Fugere was 3-for-6 with two RBIs.
Matt Tappe allowed eight hits and seven runs while striking out two over five innings in the win for UWS.
Julian Encinas allowed 18 hits and 16 earned runs in the loss for North Central.

UWS (14-15, 10-4) will play Northland at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Ashland.
