College basketball: Minnesota-Morris puts damper on Senior Day for Wisconsin-Superior women

UWS men rally from 17 down in second half to beat Cougars on the road.

Minnesota-Morris spoiled Senior Day at Wisconsin-Superior, handing the Yellowjackets a 76-64 defeat Saturday at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.

The Cougars took control of the game with an 11-0 run in the first quarter. UWS got within eight in the second half after trailing 35-23 at halftime, but no closer, falling to 3-5 (3-5 UMAC).

Kaelyn Christian led UWS with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting. The Yellowjackets will play a nonconference game on Monday at St. Scholastica.

  • Wisconsin-Superior turned a 58-41 deficit with 11:24 to play into a 76-67 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men's basketball road win at Minnesota-Morris on Saturday.

Mason Ackley (Superior) had a team-high 19 points for UWS (3-2, 3-2 UMAC), which will host Northwestern on Monday.
