FYE Motorsports Promotions owner Chris Stepan and the promotional team at the AMSOIL Speedway have teamed up to host the inaugural Great Lakes Border Battle Friday and Saturday in Superior.
The Great Lakes Border Battle will feature a $10,000 to win event for the WISSOTA Modifieds, along with twin $1,000 to win events for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds each night. The event features complete programs for the Pure Stocks each night as well.
“It’s no secret that I consider the AMSOIL Speedway one of my favorite tracks in the entire country, and I am really excited that we were able to put this event together,” Stepan said. “Once we decided to move the Mod Nationals in Alexandria off this weekend, the door was open to put this awesome event together.

“The local talent in the Twin Ports is outstanding already, and putting a $10,000 to win paycheck out there in front of the WISSOTA Modified guys should ensure a hugely talented field of drivers vying for the biggest open wheel payout in AMSOIL Speedway history.”
The AMSOIL Speedway hosted 11 WISSOTA Modified events during the 2015 season and saw seven winners, including three-time winner Kevin Eder; two-time winners Darrell Nelson and Jody Bellefeuille; and single-event winners Al Uotinen, Kelly Estey, Matt Leer and Neil Balduc.
“That balance proves that it’s truly anyone’s ballgame, which should provide some outstanding competition during this inaugural event,” Stepan said.
