Bloomer tops Northwestern in conference opener

Despite nearly 100 yards in penalties, the Bloomer Blackhawks pushed past the Northwestern Tigers Friday night to open Heart O’ North Conference play with a 32-16 victory in Bloomer.

Dylon Strassburger scored three of the Blackhawks’ five touchdowns, and quarterback Evan Zwiefelhofer threw for over 100 yards.

The Tigers picked up touchdowns on a 66-yard pass from Matt Lindsay to Nick Johnson in the third quarter and a 5-yard run by Micah Goetsch as time expired.

Jordan Orme also added a 27-yard field goal for Northwestern early in the third quarter.
