Junior guard Monte Mayberry scored 20 points as Northwestern finished the regular season with a flourish, 113-40 over Chetek-Weyerhaeuser in a Heart O’ North Conference high school boys basketball game Thursday, Feb. 11, in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Mayberry had six of the Tigers’ 15 3-pointers as Northwestern has now won five of its past six games. Jase Nelson added 18 points and Cole Lahti had 15 as 13 players scored for the Tigers (15-7 overall, 13-3 HON), who led 71-15 at the half.

Lawson Davis had 20 points to lead the Bulldogs (0-18, 0-18).

Third-seeded Northwestern will not open play in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 3 playoffs until Friday, Feb. 19, at second-seeded Cumberland in a regional semifinal. The opening game scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, has been canceled due to Spooner being in quarantine.

Cumberland swept two games from the Tigers during the regular season, winning 88-79 Jan. 18 in Cumberland and 62-60 Jan. 23 in Maple.
