Senior guard Harrison Nelson hit three 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead Northwestern to a 78-39 Heart O’ North Conference victory over Hayward in high school basketball Monday, Feb. 8, in Maple.

Monte Mayberry added 12 points as the Tigers jumped out to a 44-12 halftime lead in coasting to the win just one game after a tough 75-74 loss at Cameron Saturday, Feb. 6. Cole Lahti and John Grohn chipped in nine points apiece as 10 players got into the scoring column for Northwestern (14-7 overall, 12-3 HON).
Elijah Heyworth and Ayden Froemel scored 10 points apiece to lead the Hurricanes (2-17, 2-15).
