Sophomore guard Tieryn Plasch continued her stellar play, scoring 21 points in leading Northwestern to its seventh straight victory, a 61-32 rout of Ashland Tuesday, Dec.. 22, in girls basketball in Ashland.

Plasch drained five of the eight 3-pointers for the Tigers (7-1), who led 32-16 at halftime. Sophomore guard Allison Luoma added 12 points as Northwestern had six players score at least five points apiece.

“The ladies have put in a lot of work and really bought into playing hard,” Tigers coach Paul Eberhardt said. “We have been pretty good defensively and been able to use our defense to convert and create some easy offense. Very happy with our veteran leadership and the play of our younger players as well. We’ve very unselfish.”

Maya Anderson had 12 points to lead the Oredockers (1-3).

Plasch continued her consistent play with 18 points and Luoma had 17 as the Tigers got off to a good start and then cruised to a Monday, Dec. 21, win at Bloomer.

Plash connected on three of the Tigers’ five 3-pointers.

Leah Score was the only player to reach double figures with 10 points in the season opener for Bloomer.

Plasch had 20 points to lead the Tigers to the win Saturday, Dec. 19, at Hayward.

Brynn Erickson (15 points) and Luoma (11) also reached double figures in scoring for Northwestern, which helped keep the Hurricanes at bay by going 14-for-23 at the free-throw line.

Ana Johnson had 31 points and Brooke Quast had 12 to lead Hayward (3-2).
