The Solon Springs High School boys basketball team salvaged a season split with the South Shore Cardinals with a 72-63 victory Friday, Feb. 7, in Solon Springs.

The Eagles lost to the Cardinals 77-65 at South Shore on Jan. 6.

Both teams came out shooting the ball well from the floor on Friday, making a number of 3-pointers in back-and-forth action.

The half eventually ended with Solon Springs leading 36-33.

The second half was much the same from the Cardinals as they hit 6-of-10 3-point attempts.

On the other end of the floor, Solon Springs cooled a little from the outside, but were able to get good ball movement and find other areas on the court in order to hold and stretch the lead.

James Gehl led the Eagles with a game-high 23 points. Aaron Pfister added 20 points and Calin Lisson had 18.

Jake Winge led the Cardinals (9-8, 7-6 Indianhead Conference) with 18 points. Koy Nelson added 17 points, and Doug Hipsher had 15.

The Eagles (7-8, 7-5) host Northwood in nonconference action at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10. They return to IC action at Washburn on Tuesday, Feb. 11, and Butternut on Friday, Feb. 14.
