Brandon Meyer, a senior forward on the University of Minnesota-Duluth men's basketball team, has been named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List.
The former Superior Spartan currently averages 21.5 points (second in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, 31st in DII), 9.7 rebounds (third in the NSIC, 20th in DII) and 1.06 blocked shots (ninth in the NSIC) a game.
He also has eight double-doubles (second in the NSIC, seventh in DII), shoots 54.4% from the floor (fourth in the NSIC), has 344 points (second in the NSIC, 17th in DII), and 155 rebounds (third in the NSIC, 11th in DII).
The Top 100 watch list for the 2020 Bevo Francis Award consists of some of the top players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA and NCCAA. The award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within small college basketball.
The list will be reduced to the Top 50 players on Feb. 15. One month later on March 15, the Top 25 players will be announced. The finalists will be announced on April 4, and the winner will be crowned on April 6.
The Bulldogs host Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul at Romano Gym on Friday and Saturday, Jan 17-18.
