The Northwestern High School boys basketball team won its eighth straight game with a 76-51 victory over the Barron Golden Bears Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the NHS gym in Maple.

The Tigers got scoring from 11 different players, led by Nolan Gustafson’s 13 points.

Jake Brill and Jagar Stillson were next with 12 apiece as the Tigers improved to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the Heart O’ North Conference.

Carter LaLiberty led the Bears (3-6, 2-5) with 12 points.

The Tigers play at Cameron on Friday, Jan. 17, and at Cumberland on Monday, Jan. 20. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.

The Tigers suffered just their second defeat of the season with a 58-43 loss at Ashland on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The Oredockers improve to 8-5 while the Tigers fall to 8-2.

Northwestern plays at Barron Thursday, Jan. 16, and hosts Cameron on Saturday, Jan. 18, and Superior on Tuesday, Jan. 21. All three games begin at 7:15 p.m.
