The University of Wisconsin-Superior basketball teams picked up wins over Martin Luther on Saturday, Jan. 11, in New Ulm, Minn.

The Yellowjacket men won 69-54, while the UWS women won 78-48.

Men’s hoops

Vid Milenkovic scored 16 points and grabbed 21 rebounds for the Yellowjackets, who improved to 8-6 overall and 6-0 in the UMAC.

Milenkovic’s second straight double-double, and sixth of the season, included two steals.

Former Superior Spartan Mason Ackley and Mac Reykdal added 11 points apiece for the Yellowjackets, who play at Finlandia at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Ian Paulsen led Martin Luther (2-10, 0-5) with 15 points and six rebounds.

Women’s hoops

Eva Reinertsen picked up her second consecutive and fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 boards. The senior from Duluth also added five assists, two blocks and two steals.

The Yellowjackets (9-5, 5-1 UMAC) got 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals from Emily Carpenter and former Superior Spartan Ellie Leadstrom finished with nine points, four rebounds, three blocks and three steals.

The Yellowjackets host Minnesota Morris at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18.
