The Northwestern High School basketball teams both picked up wins Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The Tiger girls improved to 2-0 with an 81-21 home win over the Spooner Rails, while the NHS boys picked up their first win in four tries with a 73-66 win at Rice Lake.

Girls

Teiryn Plasch led four Tigers in double figures with a game-high 14 points. Brooke Ogren added 11 points and Karsyn Jones and Allison Luoma both had 10.

Aschbacker led the Rails (0-3) with 10 points.

The Tigers play at Ladysmith at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.

Boys

Harrison Nelson led 11 Tiger scorers with 16 points in the Tigers’ win over Rice Lake.

Andrew Klobucher added 12 points and Monte Maybery, Koy Nelson and Jagar Stillson all had six.

The Tigers play at Spooner on Thursday, Dec. 12, and Ladysmith on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.

Rice Lake fell to 0-3 with Tuesday’s loss.
