The Superior/Douglas County Salvation Army concluded its 34th Rookie Basketball Association season with an awards night in the Superior High School’s Performing Arts Center on March 19.

The master of ceremonies was Pat Puchalla.

Players received individual awards (as nominated by their respective coaches), certificates of participation and commemorative medals. Players also got to keep their game jerseys.

Five teams received trophies: the Bulls, for winning the Friendship Games; the Raptors, for winning the Gunner V. Tournament; the Wizards, for finishing in third place; the Cavs for finishing in second place; and the Hawks, for winning the RBA championship.

Certificates were presented to everyone who volunteered as coaches and referees. Plaques were given to Jerry Broderson and George D. Paddock for volunteering for 25 years apiece, and Bud Brand, the 2018-19 Volunteer of the Year.

Reginae Simiya and Chase LaJoi were also recognized as the Most Improved Players; Aubrey DeFeyter and Jordan Fitzgerald won the Scott Matthew Johnson Teammates Awards; and Anya Turnboomand Jerrery Barten won the bicycle drawings.

Jesse Falter is the RBA Commisioner and captains Jasen and Kimberly Elcombe serves as officers of the Superior/Douglas County Salvation Army.
