The University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s basketball team clinched a share of the UMAC regular season title with a 74-61 victory over Bethany Lutheran Saturday, Feb. 9, at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.

The Yellowjackets (22-2, 14-1 UMAC) and Vikings began the day tied atop the standings.

UWS, which extended its winning streak to 10 games, can clinch the title outright with a win at North Central on Saturday, Feb. 16.

Hannah Norlin had 29 points and 12 rebounds for UWS, followed by Emily Carpenter with 19 points and Katie White with 12.

Bethany Lutheran, which had its nine-game winning streak snapped, was led by Abby Olson’s 18 points.

Men’s hoops

Bethany Lutheran spoiled “Senior Day” for UWS’s Montry Scott with an 86-69 UMAC victory over the Yellowjackets on Saturday.

Scott, the lone senior on the UWS roster, scored 25 points to lead the Yellowjackets (6-18 overall, 4-11 UMAC), who have dropped four straight.
