Bethany Lutheran advanced with a 76-64 win over Minnesota Morris.

For the first time in three years since joining the UMAC, UWS looked mortal as the Eagles jumped out to a 10-4 lead midway through the first quarter.

A 6-0 run helped the Yellowjackets pull into a 12-12 tie after one quarter and the teams exchanged baskets throughout the second quarter before UWS went into the half with a 29-22 lead.

After that is back to normal for the Yellowjackets as they took a couple of double-digit leads, including 46-36 after three quarters.

But the Eagles wouldn’t go away and they managed to pull within 52-46 with 4:29 remaining, before the Yell owjackets offense just became too much and pulled away for the win.

Hannah Norlin led UWS with 19 points thanks to making 6-of-6 field-goal attempts and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Former Superior Spartan Hailey Kontny picked up a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double and Justine Larson added 10 points, nine boards and five assists.
