UWS women win 48th straight UMAC game
The University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s basketball completed its third consecutive undefeated UMAC season with a 101-64 win over North Central Saturday at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.
The Yellowjackets, 21-4 overall and 16-0 in the UMAC, are 48-0 during their three regular seasons in the UMAC (52-0 including the playoffs).
UWS will host Northwestern in a UMAC tournament semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Eagles advanced with a 52-39 win over St. Scholsatica.
The title game is scheduled for Saturday.
Amelia Leger led four players in double figures Saturday with 17 points. Hannah Norlin added 16 points, followed by Eva Reinertsen, 12; and Emily Carpenter, 10.
The Yellowjackets cruised to a 57-29 halftime lead and made 42 of 69 shots from the floor.
Lizzy Swanson paced the Rams (9-15, 4-12) with 23 points.
