Northwestern rebounded from a one-run loss in the opening game to Spooner to defeat the Rails 4-1 in the nightcap of a Heart O’North Conference doubleheader Thursday, April 29, in Iron River.

Brennen Werner, who was 4-for-5 with a home run in the opener, had two more hits in the second game.

Kole Paulsen pitched a solid game after the Tigers lost a high-scoring 11-10 first game.

Paulsen, Dylan Ronchi and Jase Nelson each had two hits for Northwestern in the opener.

The Tigers were next scheduled to host Ashland at 5 p.m. Monday, May 3; then head to St. Croix Falls for a 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, game; and host Ladysmith at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 6.
