The awards keep piling up for Michigan Tech women's basketball player Lindsey Lindstrom.
The former Superior Spartan was named All-GLIAC First Team and to the GLIAC All-Defensive team and the GLIAC Women's Basketball All-Tournament team. Lindstrom, a marketing major, was also named to the league's Women's Basketball Academic Excellence team. Academic honors are awarded to to students with GPA's between 3.50-4.0.
Joining Lindstrom as an All-GLIAC First Team selection and GLIAC All-Defensive Team member was junior Sam Hoyt.
"Both women were deserving of the awards," Michigan Tech coach Kim Cameron said. "I'm excited of their contributions offensively, but I am more proud of them for being well-rounded defensive minded players. Our philosophy is built on defense. I am glad they were recognized for their efforts."
Lindstrom, a senior, ranks 18th in the GLIAC in scoring averaging 12 points per game and 12th in rebounds with 6.7 per game. She started all 26 games and ranks 14th in the league in free throw percentage (79-percent) and eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (38-percent). She ranks seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3), 15th in assists (2.7) and 15th in blocks (0.7).

Hoyt is averaging 16 points per game, sixth-best in the league, including a school record 37 points against Northwood on Feb. 25.
The Arkansaw, Wis., native has established herself as one of the best shooters in the league ranking second in 3-pointers made (2.7), sixth in 3-point percentage (40-percent) and 10th in free throw percentage (80-percent). She ranks fifth in assists (4.1) and eighth in steals (1.9).
Lindstrom was also to the GLIAC Women's Basketball All-Tournament Team. The daughter of Mitch and Wendy Lindstrom, scored 18 points, including 3 3-pointers, in the team's 80-70 loss at No. 4 Ashland. She also grabbed five rebounds and finished with one steal, one block and one assist.
