The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced Thursday its fall schedule will be restricted to mostly conference games.

In addition to their conference schedules, football will get to keep its two non-conference opponents, while men’s and women’s soccer can play two non-conference games against either UMAC teams or non-UMAC teams that follow similar protocols. Volleyball has the same stipulations, except with three non-conference dates available.

Soccer and volleyball will have modified six-team conference tournaments.

Men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s cross country will be limited to UMAC opponents during the regular season. Conference championships in those sports will remain the same.

While the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Midwest Conference announced conference-only schedules for the fall, other NCAA Division III conferences in the region haven’t announced their plans yet.

The UMAC has nine full members, including St. Scholastica and Wisconsin-Superior. It will be the Saints’ final year in the conference before joining the MIAC in 2021-22.
