The Superior High School boys golf team finished in ninth place in the Virginia Invitational on Friday, May 17.
Hermantown finished first with a team score of 306. Superior came in at 349.
Superior was led by TJ Sitek, who finished sixth with a 76.
Other Spartan scores were: Trevor Durfee, 87; Kobe Hansen, 92; Hayden Wilson, 94; Drew Nelson, 95; and Logan Leif, 96.
Hermantown’s Cade Slattengren took medalist honors with a 72.
The Spartans were scheduled to host the WIAA Division 1 Regional at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the Nemadji Golf Course.
Other teams competing will be Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire Memorial, Eau Claire North, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond and River Falls.
The first four teams and top four individuals, who are not members of a qualifying team, qualifying for the sectional tournament Wednesday, May 29, at the New Richmond Golf Course.

The Spartans defeated Chippewa Falls 3-2 on Thursday, May 16, to improve to 3-9-2 overall and 2-9-1 in the Big Rivers Conference.
Superior also defeated Chippewa Falls 3-1 at home April 23.
The Spartans play at Menomonie on Tuesday, May 21, and host River Falls on Thursday, May 23. Both games begin at 5 p.m.
Superior is the No. 16 seed for the WIAA playoffs and will host No. 17 Chippewa Falls at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 25. The winner plays No. 1 Kimberly on Tuesday, May 28.
