The Solon Springs baseball team defeated the Bayfield Trollers 23-0 and 25-1 in Indianhead Conference action Thursday, May 2, in Solon Springs.

In the Eagles’ opening win, Gage Blaylock and Ben Dickeson both had two hits and two RBIs.

Aaron Pfister was the winning pitcher, tossing a no-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks.

Blaylock was the winner in game two, also tossing a no-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk. Bayfield’s run was unearned.

On offense, Drake Debeir hit an RBI double and scored twice. Blaylock and Gavin Sellwood added a hit and RBI apiece.

“We were able to get some of our guys some lengthy experience,” SSHS coach Nathan Ahlberg said. “Aaron and Gage both threw well in their first high school start. Each threw strikes and our defense made plays behind them. All of our hitters showed high self-control at the plate.

The Eagles (7-3), who hosted Ironwood for two games Monday, May 6, play at Drummond on Thursday, May 9, and Butternut on Friday, May 10. Both games begin at 4:30 p.m.
