Public input on Douglas County's antlerless deer harvest quota, harvest authorization level and season structure recommendations for the 2019 hunting season will be taken during the County Deer Advisory Council's final spring meeting, 5:30 p.m. April 17 at the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave.

The council's preliminary recommendations, formed during its March meeting, include a zero general harvest quota for antlerless deer on private and public lands in Douglas County. The council did recommend that junior antlerless harvest authorizations will be valid in the county for the 2019 deer seasons. To reduce deer numbers in metro subunits, the council also recommended that 300 bonus metro antlerless harvest authorizations be available for purchase - 100 for private land, 200 for public.

Final recommendations will be presented to the DNR following the meeting and advance to the Natural Resources Board for approval in May. Those unable to attend the meeting may also comment at any time before Wednesday, April 10, by contacting a CDAC member.
