The College of St. Scholastica Saints won their sixth straight game with a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin Superior Tuesday night at Wessman Arena.

The Saints’ also matched their program record for wins in a season as they improved to 16-6-1. CSS also won 16 games last season.

The loss was the sixth straight for the Yellowjackets (7-16-1).

Both Saints’ goals came in the first period. Giorgia Battisti scored on the power play at 16:16 and Amber Tilander scored a 18:35.

The Yellowjackets cut the lead in half on Kaleigh Martinson’s team-leading 14th goal of the season with 5:24 left in the second period. Martinson is also Superior’s leader in points with 23.

Lexi Thomeczek picked up the win in goal for the Saints with 29 saves. Catherine Johnson stopped 27 saves for the Yellowjackets.
