The season came to an end for the Solon Springs High School volleyball team with a 3-0 loss at Butternut on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

The No. 6-seeded Midgets won the WIAA Division 4 playoff game by scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

The Eagles were led by Jori Gehl’s serving, Kylli Rajala’s setting, and senior Allison Androsky, who played against a 6-foot-2 Butternut player in the third set despite experiencing some pain in her wrist.

“Jori had some great hits, blocks and was able to set up her teammates for hitting,” SSHS coach Melanie Gehl said. “Kylli was the lead setter and Allison stepped up, despite her injury.”

Seniors Androsky and Nikki Orozco played in their final match for the Eagles.

“Both have been solid players for the Eagles,” coach Gehl said. “They will be missed.”
