The Solon Springs High School volleyball team split a pair matches in recent action.

The Eagles lost to the Mercer Tigers 3-0 (25-6, 25-2, 25-8) Thursday, Sept. 13 in the SSHS gym.

“Mercer is a well rounded team,” SSHS coach Melanie Gehl said. “Aubrey Schoeneman led the Tigers with hits, but we were able to block her and slow her down some.

“On our side, we had lots of volleys, but just could not finish.”

The Eagles’ win was 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-18) Monday, Sept. 10 at Mellen.

The Eagles, 1-2 in the in the Indianhead Conference, host Bayfield Trollers Thursday, Sept. 20 and travel to Northwestern Saturday, Sept. 22  for the Heidi Zosel Tournament.
