Superior High School boys swimming captain Nate DeRoche will help raise funds and awareness for Diabetes when he hosts Dive in for Diabetes during this evening’s meet with River Falls and Hudson.
DeRoche’s senior project includes a Chinese auction, T-shirts for sale and a magic minute.
Auction items include a spa package, restaurant gift cards, certificates and rounds of golf.
The Big Rivers Conference meet begins at 6:30 p.m. in the SHS natatorium.
All proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association.

Youth Cheer Clinic
The SHS cheerleaders will hold the Spartan Youth Cheer Clinic Jan. 15, 17, 18 and 19 in the SHS cafeteria.
The clinic is for students in kindergarten through eighth-grade.
The event, which is a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital & Clinics of Minnesota, is being organized by junior Olivia Knutson with help from the varsity cheer team and under the supervision of the SHS cheer coaching staff.
Registration is $25 per student, T-shirts are $10 and bows are $5. Payments should be made out to SHS and must be received by Jan. 12.
The campers will then perform at halftime of the SHS girls varsity basketball game on Jan. 19.

The Spartans will participate in Lake Superior Conference Showcase at Hermantown High School.
All three levels (varsity, JV and C team) will compete with the Superior varsity playing the host Hawks at 5:15 p.m.
The SHS JV and C team will play Hermantown at 3:30 p.m.
