The Arizona Coyotes have called up former Superior Spartan Mike Sislo.

Sislo joined the team for Tuesday’s game with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but did not suit up in the Coyotes’ 3-1 loss.

Sislo has registered four goals and two assists with 10 penalty minutes in nine games this season with the Tucson Roadrunners, Arizona’s American Hockey League affiliate.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward has recorded three goals and two assists and six penalty minutes in 42 career NHL games with the New Jersey Devils.

According to Arizona head coach Rick Tocchet, Sislo was recalled just in case an extra forward is needed. Tocchet said there are a few bumps and bruises among the group.

Should he play, Sislo will wear sweater No. 51.

One of Sislo’s teammates with the Coyotes is defenseman Alex Goligoski, a native of Frand Rapids, Minn.

Goligoski, who was a second-round draft pick in 2004 by Pittsburgh, has one goal and six assists this season and 62 goals and 258 assists in 661 career games.

Goligoski is the son of ex-Superiorites Dan and Paula Goligoski.

The Coyotes (2-14), who lost in a shootout Thursday at St. Louis, host Winnipeg Saturday.
