Bogojevic wins bronze at Pan American Games

Nikola Bogojevic won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games on July 15 in Mexico City.

The 2010 Wisconsin state champion for the Superior High School Spartans was competing in the 286.5-poud class (130 kg) as a member of the United States World Greco-Roman team.

Bogojevic defeated Rodolpho White of Panama, 8-0; pinned Alberto Berrios of Mexico; and lost 8-0 to Mijain Lopez of Cuba in the semifinals.

Lopez, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner and four-time world champion won his ninth Pam American champion by winning three matches to claim gold. He outscored his opponents 20-0.

Bogojevic then defeated Eduardo Lopez of Puerto Rico in the bronze medal match.

The U.S. won the team title with 62 points, earning medals at seven weights.

Bogojevic is currently a student at Colorado State University-Pueblo (Colo.).
