The Superior Reds scored all the runs they needed in the first inning in a 3-2 victory over Lakeview Wednesday evening at Morrie Arnovich Field.
The Reds then improved to 5-0 on the season with a 5-2 win over Hayward Thursday night.
Brandon Wing pitched the first four innings for Superior to pick up the win against Lakeview.
Justin Reinkall finished the game to earn the save. Combined they allowed two unearned runs and five hits while striking out four.
Bryce Connolly led the Reds at the plate with a hit and two RBIs. Michael LaJoie added a hit and RBI and Ben Rhodes and Reinkall both singled.

Superior will play in the Land of the Loon Legion Tournament this weekend in Virginia.
The Reds play Hermantown in the tournament opener at noon today. The tournament runs through Sunday’s championship game at 2:30 p.m.

Another three-run inning by the Reds, this one in the bottom of the sixth inning, provided the winning runs against Hayward Thursday at Morrie Arnovich Field.

Starting pitcher Austin Sears allowed one unearned run and seven hits over the first five innings. Matt Strum pitched the final two innings for the win.
Strum pitched out of jam in the sixth inning when Hayward had runners on second and third with nobody out and scored tied 2-2. Strum got out of the jam by inducing a ground out and striking out two batters.
The Reds took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth thanks in part to RBI doubles by Dominic D’Auria and Ben Rhodes.
The Reds finished with five hits. Reinkall added a double; Gunner Johnson had a RBI single; and Bryce Connolly singled. Wing also added an RBI.
