Four new records were set in the annual Superior Middle School 8th Grade Track-O-Rama on May 29.
Savannah Leopold set two new records in the girls event. Her time of 8.75 seconds in the 75-yard dash beat out the old record of 8.94 by Lauren Magnuson in 2011. She then won the long jump with a record leap of 13-2, passing the old mark of 12-9 by Hannah Berg in 2011.
The 75-yard dash record fell on the boys side.
Carson Gotelaere won the race in 8.14, followed by Darrel James in second at 8.34. Both times beat out the previous record of 8.42 seconds by Max Plunkett in 2014.
The boys 50-yard dash record also fell twice with Jack Cooper finishing first in 5.71 and Trevon Stubblefield second, 5.76. The old record was 5.77 by Carter Fonger in 2017.
Gotelaere also won the 100, Wyatt Oliver won the 200 and Trevor Derrik the long jump.
On the girls side, Leopold also won the 200, Grace Lemke won the 50 and Neve Madden the 100.
Alison Raboin, Jocelyn Dolson, Lauren Gunderson and Emma Raye teamed up to win the girls 4x100 relay, and Cole Stallsmith, Jason Thoms, Cad07en Ostman and Jasen Bruzek won the boys 4x200 relay.
The Blue Wing beat out the Red and Green wins to win the team championship.
