To the residents of the City Council 2nd District:

I want to take this opportunity to thank the residents of the 2nd District for allowing me to serve as your representative on the Superior City Council for the past four years. It has been a privilege for me to work in many ways to help Superior be a better place to live. I have decided not to seek re-election for several personal reasons and feel it is time to turn the reins over to someone else in April.

There are two candidates seeking my seat on City Council, and I commend both for their willingness to take on this duty. I have personally met with both candidates to answer questions, inform them of current issues and to get a good understanding of their goals and values. Both candidates are very qualified, but after hearing from both I feel Jenny Van Sickle is the best candidate to represent the 2nd District.

Van Sickle's involvement in the Twin Ports community goes very deep. Her passion to see people treated fairly, local programs accessible to all and her involvement as an alumna at UW-Superior will serve the city well.

Her volunteer and work experience in Duluth and Superior will assist in building a stronger bond in the Twin Ports. Her involvement in Superior Days, Citizens in Action event and with many advocacy groups has given her the in-depth understanding of our community and priority needs.

I encourage the residents of the 2nd District to consider Jenny Van Sickle as your representative when you vote April 4. I have no doubt that she will advocate and listen to all with an open mind. My vote goes to Jenny Van Sickle for City Council.
